Only one occasion was I involved in criminal activity that involved faking cattle tracks ….It was shortly after Sean lemass’s body was discovered in the the heather of the Dublin mountains …I was not born yet so I had a perfect alibi ….anyway just out side of dublin nestled in the foothills was a sleepy village of enniskerry …we knew that the takings from the monthly market would make thee way back to dublin up through the Glencree valley    passing but not stopping by the Germans cemetery ….as the road met with the arterial road to the Sallys gap  the van would have to grind to a halt …and manoeuvre around the hairpin ….It would be dark  and with the distraction to roaming cattle we could embezzlement a small fortune into our tweed coats …It was a  Bert lyman whose smart idea it was to hoof up ….
