A Long glorious summer

​It had been a long glorious day full of summer …we had finished swirling in the river  and the late afternoon gifts were a warm sweet breeze and a glowing sun that kissed our cheeks …and then from under a neighbouring towel ” Daddy who taught you to make bread ?”….my eyes still , an image rushed to the front of my thoughts …”I had the good fortune to learning the principles of baking in a foundry in the back streets of Dublin many years before you were born, we didn’t call it baking but the principles were the same ”
