The Joys of Public Transport

One of the joys of having limited or no access to public transport is the decline of unwarranted attention while travelling about ones business ..The uncanny feeling one gets when mistaken or otherwise you feel your personal space has been transgressed by a fellow traveller …after many such encounters  luckily never any frotage  I was in 1998 banned from travelling  on any mode of transport that conveyed fellow passengers , at the time; my appearance in a smart A line skirt and mid heeled shoes did not allay the concerns of the transport police  being a recently elected by a labour government. I was allocated my own personal transport budget with the exception of train journeying covering 200 miles or more where in each instance I would travel in the soon to be redundant mail carriage ..my case was reviewed in 2008 when my personalised travel budget was compromised to saloons and excluded 4x4s ..Most recently a case officer reconsidered my conditional travel privileges and as long as I wear breeches trousers pants not breeks they are happy for me to mingle freely along the extensive public transport network ….closed footwear also with a maximum 3 cm heel
